After ignoring the LOUD cries for consultation and master planning in what to do with Sunshine's three outdoor pools, the Western Suburbs Labor Party team show how smart they are:

It has taken them 5 years to come up with a plan that will cost $10 million - 9 million from Brimbank Ratepayers.

For the $10 million the community lose 3 outdoor pools - now demolished.

What the community is getting is a heated shallow indoor pool which starts at zero depth and only 3 feet deep at the deepest end!

And why is it costing $10 million for only a shallow 3 feet deep pool?

Because the council did not master plan, did not take the ideas presented by the community, and came up with the most ridiculous plan that $10 million has ever been spent on.

The bulk of the cost is because the council decided to demolish the ten foot deep 50m pool and then put a new building on top of it!

Masses and masses of concrete required, millions of dollars worth.

And what did the community want?

Fix the 50 metre pool (quoted at $2.4 million with a new pump house)

Upgrade the change rooms and the gym.

But what is coming is a smaller gym and a babies pool.

And the three outdoor pools are now filled in at huge cost.

It has been announced that the coming summer will be the hottest summer in decades.

And where will the children and teenagers and familes go to escape the heat?

Will they go to the heated indoor babies pool?

No.

Will they go to Highpoint? No, already jam packed.

The Rod Laver Pools were there for the taking. All it would have taken was some positive motivation from the Labor Councillors and our Labor Ministers.

But what did the Labor Party do out here to reward everyone for voting labor and creating a Safe Seat?

Nothing.

"We will wait another three years and then see if we need them".

So another ten million dollars worth of swimming pool lost.

If a pool ever comes to Brimbank when these idiots are voted out the community again will have to pay.

That is the Labor Party Western Suburbs faction style and it will be on the record for everyone to see forever.

Wait until people see the new 10 million baby pool.

The disgust will be on everyones face.

Funny what I just read in the paper from Justin Madden Sports minister about a new sports centre in warnabool.

Mr Madden who is a qualified architect, praised the new building's award-winning design. ``There's an old saying: we form our buildings and thereafter they form us - this is one of those buildings,''
