SUNSHINE POOL
OUR KIDS, OUR COMMUNITY, OUR POOL

The Sunshine Mothers’ group is holding a 2nd public meeting to report back to the community, as was promised to 200+ residents that attended the public meeting held on 24 August 2006. At this Public Meeting the Sunshine community voted and agreed to the following resolution-

"That the mothers' group be given accreditation to approach elected representatives at Local, State and Federal levels to ascertain what their position is and report back to a future meeting to be called at least one month prior to the upcoming state election. Options to be reported on the website to be presented for consideration.”

Thursday 26 October 2006
Mariana Hall
(Cnr Monash St & Station Place, Sunshine Melway Ref: 40 J1)
6.30pm – 8.00pm
FREE Sausage sizzle from 6pm!

Residents, Schools, State Government MP’s, Union Representatives, Councilors & the Media are all invited to attend.

Sunshine community volunteers helped build our recently demolished 50 metre outdoor pool. The once magnificent pool that gave so much too so many, disturbingly, lay in disrepair for over 14 years. A whole generation of kids that are now young adults have gone without the outdoor recreational pool that was built for them.

Sunshine community is one of the most disadvantaged communities in Victoria, especially in areas of health and wellbeing. Those who want an outdoor pool for our teenagers, young adults and families “for all of our residents” need to come along to the meeting to discuss options!

Brimbank has the least aquatic facilities in Victoria and one of the highest youth populations.
